Geeks in College
I don`t think there are any geeks in college. College is the time when ex geek from high school can actually start living their lives. Once people get into college, they can`t just drink beer and party all the time as reality soon strikes and they need to start studying. Not everyone gets into college, and not everyone gets into the college they want. As a result, everybody knows it would be stupid to let a chance like this pass you buy for a few parties. Once you`re in college, things are not forbidden anymore. You don`t live with your parents, you don`t have a fix schedule and you can actually drink without having your older friends buy beer for you. Also, being in college is not liking being in class, as a student usually moves around the university depending on the classes they picked. As a result, as a student you will get to meet a lot of people you age, without having to spend you entire day of school in a certain environment.
Everything changes in high school. Conversations are different, the attitude is different and the judgment level is lower. There are no more clique groups that people feel the need to fit you in, as everybody goes there way. People are growing up and starting to create a new identity for themselves. They are slowly discovering who they are and what they can be as meeting new people often tells you a lot about yourself. You can suddenly learn how people really see you if you are not stuck into that whole geek clique. You can find that you can socialize quite well, that you can also have fun, and that you can actually put on a great fun conversation with just about anyone. College is he lace where the geek myth is destroyed. It is the places where the geek actually gets the girl. She doesn`t have to be the one, as she can be an ordinary girl that sees him for who he is. It is the place where the geek has been released of the burden he was carrying around.
If nothing else, geeks can actually enjoy a fun experience in college, as they will get to know new people, learn new things and be invited to parties at the same time. No more discriminations no more sitting at home alone. The library suddenly turns into this great place where everyone spends a lot of time, as everyone is now fighting for their grades. As this is the least that can happen, an ex geek can even aspire to more in college as he already has hid brain trained for learning fast and can earn a lot of attention with his wit. Being already very good at something can open up a lot of doors in college, and the ex geek is on his way towards success putting an end to the misery they had to go through in high school.
Geeks
We all heard, maybe even used the word geeks, and all of us have seen tones of movies about them. Still, at the end of the movie, the geek seems to be the one who get`s the girl. It is only fair as they take a lot of crap during the entire movie. What I`m trying to say is that whenever we see a high school or college movie, the geeks are the ones who get their dreams come true, against all odds. But does this also apply to real life? It can, but you have to believe in it. One thing is the same in reality as it is in movies. The geek is always the one who gets rich in the end and is the hottest thing around by the 10 year reunion. Still, smart girls might want to notice them while they are still in their purest form. Things change once you get out of school. Values change, and an ex geek will always have what it takes to make it in different fields. Suddenly, geeks are not all about the glasses and the wedgies they are all about the suit, the suitcase, and the banking.
If you took the time to talk to any of these so called geeks in school, you would have realized that most of them were of a higher intelligence than anyone around. Although most of them do well in every field, they seem to have one special field that they are remarkably good at. For some of them it is math, for others it is chemistry, but for most of them it is computers. Once you have a good foundation in one of these fields, especially in computers, you are good to go. The reasons why these kids were always the ones that couldn`t fit in is because they were different. Most teenagers are only interested in music, clothes and making out. Once you are deprived of that, you have a lot of your best years to dedicate to more important things like school. There`s no better time to learn stuff than in school, as it is the proper age for you to absorb knowledge like a sponge and you are still in the system. Being in the system and being used to learning all the time is very useful. Once you get out of school and specialize in one field, you will realize you are having problems with other domains in just a few years.
As a result, once you dedicate some of your best years to learning things you are interested in, you can expect the reward to be just right. After all, hard work has always been rewarded. A lot of these so called geeks start making money online from an early age. As they go on, they can get really great digits per year and they deserve it. Once they are on their feet, they will finally feel like it was all worth it. The math club, the missing out on cool parties, everything was worth it.
